Mandated Reporter Training

Mindy VanBibber serves as the Protective Services Screening Supervisor for Athens County Children Services. Part of Mindy's role is to educate those who are Mandated Reporters, like CASA Volunteers. When CASA volunteer is serving in their role, they are mandated to report any suspected concerns of Child Abuse or Neglect. In this training, Mindy will describe the process of making a report to Athens County Children Services and what are some indicators of Child Abuse or Neglect.  Dinner and networking begins at 5pm and traing will start at 5:30pm.  

After attending this training, participants will: 

1. Understand what the obligations are of being a Mandated Reporter
2. Possess the knowledge of how to make a report of Child Abuse or Neglect
3. Gain awareness of indicators of when Child Abuse or Neglect may be occurring

This training has been partially funded through a contract between Ohio CASA and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. OHIO CASA supports local CASA/GAL programs throughout Ohio with training, technical assistance, legislative support, and standards implementation so volunteers may advocate for abused, neglected, and dependent children in the court system.
