About this Session: Join us for a conversation with Judge Zachary L. Saunders, who recently began his work as the Athens County Juvenile Court Judge. The session will focus on Judge Saunders' plans for juvenile court, his goals for CASA and his thoughts on CASA's work in abuse, neglect and dependency questions. Judge Saunders will be available for questions from CASA Volunteers and Board members.

About the Presenter: Judge Zachary Saunders will begin his full six-year term on February 9, 2021, but began his tenure early by appointment of Governor Mike DeWine to fill the vacancy in the position. He has served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Athens County since 2015, managing the civil division and serving as representation for Athens County elected officials and its 14 townships. He also managed the grand jury division and criminal cases. Previously, Judge Saunders practiced criminal defense at the firm of Mollica Gall Sloan & Sillery in Athens. He earned his law degree from Wester Michigan University's Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his undergraduate degree from Ohio University.
