Presenter Information:

MelissaRoshan. One word, no space.

As unique as her name, MelRo is an uncommon talent who has modeled internationally for over 15 years. Her work has been seen on magazine covers, billboards, print ads, national commercials, and runways. But what this respected model is most proud of, is owning the title of SurTHRIVER.

From the days of her tumultuous childhood spent in the foster care system, MelRo knew she was meant for more. She aged out of care and became a teen parent. She and her son lived in a teen-parenting homeless shelter for 2 years. Through her determination and commitment to healing, as well as resources from her CASA Volunteer, her foundation to thrive led her on her path to becoming the fierce advocate for children and families we know today.

This training has been partially funded through a contract between Ohio CASA and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. OHIO CASA supports local CASA/GAL programs throughout Ohio with training, technical assistance, legislative support, and standards implementation so volunteers may advocate for abused, neglected, and dependent children in the court system. This training has been approved for R48-compliant GAL CEs by Judge Zachary L. Saunders.
