Rebecca has been the Executive Director of the Athens County Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian Ad Litem (CASA/GAL) Program since February of 2003. CASA/GAL is a non-profit organization that utilizes volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in Juvenile Court. She has also done private GAL work for Domestic Relations Court. Rebecca is also currently an adjunct professor at Ohio University in the School of Human and Consumer Sciences. Before working for Juvenile Court, Rebecca worked as a service coordinator for the Childhood League Center in Columbus, Ohio. Here she specialized in linking high risk, culturally diverse families, with children birth to three years old with services. Prior to moving to Columbus, Rebecca worked at Athens County Children Services as a Family Mentor for families who had children birth to three years old and were at high risk for abuse and neglect. She also provided developmental screenings and referral when necessary. Rebecca did her internship at the Washington D.C. Rape Crisis Center in Washington D.C. There she provided counseling, support, and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault. Rebecca received her bachelor’s degree in Human and Consumer Sciences from Ohio University and majored in Family and Child Studies. Rebecca currently serves on the Board of the Athens Child Advocacy Center, is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Athens County and is also on the Advisory Board for the College of Social Work and the College of Health and Human Services at Ohio University.

Tiffany Hill-Smith became a CASA volunteer during law school in 2003. The experiences gained from her volunteer work there were invaluable, and Tiffany has remained committed to the mission of the CASA program. When her family relocated to Athens, Ohio in 2006 she was eager to become involved in the Athens County CASA/GAL program as a volunteer and recently became the Volunteer Supervisor in November, 2008. Tiffany received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and earned her J. D. and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from Louisiana State University. She works as an attorney in the Ohio University Office of Legal Affairs. Tiffany’s professional memberships include the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, the Athens County Bar Association and the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). Tiffany is also a member of Women in Philanthropy of Ohio University, the Ohio University’s Women’s Club and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
